National Farm Credit Council meeting in Washington, D.C.

Louisiana Land Bank was represented at the national Farm Credit Council’s annual meeting held in Washington, D.C. by Stephen Austin, CEO, Mark Morgan, board chairman, Jack Dailey, board vice-chairman and Cullen Kovac, board director. The meeting included the unveiling of a time capsule that honored Farm Credit’s 50th anniversary in addition to Hill meetings and visits with Louisiana senators and legislators. The meeting consisted of several key-note speakers including Co-Bank’s Ag-Economist, Terry Barr and Senator Bob Dole of Kansas. Senator Dole spoke of the 50th anniversary event and how relative the mission of the Farm Credit System was then and now, as well as pertinent political issues of today. Other Kansas senators present were Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran.

Louisiana Land Bank representatives visited several political offices on the Hill which included:

  • Rep. Ralph Abraham, MD, DVM, (R), Fifth District
  • John Seale, Legislative Counsel to Rep. Steve Scalise (R), First District
  • Kaitlin Signinolfi, Legislative Director to Rep. Charles W. Boustany, MD (R), Third District
  • Andrew Robreno, Legislative Assistant to Rep. Garrett Graves, (R), Sixth District

Other supporters of Louisiana Land Bank’s group were FCBT’s Legislative Assistant, Lisa Schriver and Co-Bank’s board member, Dickie Sitman.
