Barry Fontenot
With LLB since 1987.

My favorite part of working at LLB is
being able to meet people and help them in some small way to achieve the dream of owning their own piece of land.

I do what I do (at LLB) because
I am a people person and a hands-on kind of guy. I enjoy meeting new customers and helping the many friends I have made over the past 27 years. Having grown up on a rice, soybean, cattle and quarter horse operation, I have many interests from production agriculture to livestock operations both beef cattle and equines alike.

My favorite thing to do outside work is
raising F1 Brahman X Hereford cattle, and running quarter horses on my farm in Evangeline parish. I have been very involved in rodeo as I am an avid team roper. I got involved with Louisiana High School Rodeo many years ago when my children both showed an interest in the sport. I am very proud to say that both my daughter, Sarah and my son, Camron were both Louisiana High School Champions.

What most people don't know about me is that
that I never thought I would work in an office job. Being raised on the farm, I just knew I would follow in my dad's footsteps and farm for a living.

The people who inspire me the most are
my parents. They always told me that there is nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it and stick with it. They also taught me to treat others the way I want to be treated.

I give back by
volunteering as a youth softball and baseball coach in my home town and also at the 4-H livestock shows in my home parish. I also help many young boys and girls who want to learn how to ride and/or rope as I have a roping pen at my home and always welcome anyone that wants to learn.

I am most grateful for
my wife and my children.

Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
living in the area of the country that I live in. I have traveled to many different states and also to other countries and there is NO Place Like HOME!

Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
yet to come!

My favorite part of working at LLB is
the flexibility. I am so grateful to be able to leave early when I need, but at the same time maintain a professional career.

My favorite thing to do outside work is
spending time with family and friends.

The people who inspire me the most are
many. If you pay attention enough, you encounter inspiration all the time. The key is you have to be seeking it to truly appreciate the beauty in it.

I am most grateful for
faith, family, friends, and health.

With LLB since 2016.

My favorite part of working at LLB is
the wonderful people.

My favorite thing to do outside work is
spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. My passion is turkey hunting in the spring.

What most people don't know about me is that
I am originally from North Louisiana, a little town called Columbia. My husband moved me down here about 5 years ago.

The person who inspires me the most is
my sister. She is my rock and has helped me through thick and thin.

I am most grateful for
my wonderful daughter and husband. I would be nowhere without them.

Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn't go a day without is
energy drinks, have to have one to start my day since I don't drink coffee.

Shining professional moment I'm most proud of is
being able to help an elderly couple refinance their home and lower their montly obligation so drastically they were crying in my office. Helping people is when I am the happiest.

My favorite part of working at LLB is
obviously the incredible staff and customers who have welcomed me with open arms, but also the capability to work from behind the desk and in the field.

I do what I do (at LLB) because
watching your own efforts help someone else succeed has got to be the most rewarding feeling in the world. Tie that in with my love for agriculture and business, it's a perfect match!

My favorite thing to do outside work is
hunting, playing sports and spending time with my younger brothers on our family ranch.

What most people don't know about me is that
I am a 4-time Fantasy Football champion (more to come) … and I was a featured background actor alongside Matthew McConaughey!

The people who inspire me the most are
my parents, Danny and Renee. Watching their love for God, family and each other provide true happiness and has shown my siblings and I what true success is.

I give back by
serving on the board of directors for the Historic Grand Opera House of the South, here in Crowley.

I am most grateful for
my upbringing. I grew up on a small cattle ranch. At the time, I was not a big fan of the daily chores, but looking back I count each day on that farm as a blessing and building block to the man I have become.

Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
sunglasses!

Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
completing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program from my beloved University of Louisiana – Lafayette, Geaux Cajuns!
