Chief Credit Officer
My favorite part of working at LLB is
the unique environment. I've learned more about risk management in the past 3 years than I would have in a 30-year career with anyone else.
The person who inspires me the most is
my dad. He worked long hours and even many weekends with only modest means but always seemed to be grateful for the little things in life. It's easy to admire that attitude but tough to live it. I'm just glad that I have a good teacher.
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
when I was given a chance to be part of a management team that restored confidence in this organization's character.
Chief Financial Officer
My favorite part of working at LLB is
the great group of co-workers, and providing the best financial service to borrowers in Louisiana.
I do what I do (at LLB) because
I can see and touch the end product that I had a small part in helping produce – rice, timber, cotton, sugar cane, soybeans… At LLB, we help ensure that those products have the financing available to make it to market. Louisiana is so diverse when it comes to agriculture compared to our neighboring states. It is exciting to be a part of that.

My favorite part of working at LLB is
definitely contributing to the success of the employees I work with every day. There is nothing more gratifying than to see someone succeed and to know you may have played a small part. The same thing goes for the borrowers/stockholders of Louisiana Land Bank. I’ve been very fortunate to have met and served many Land Bank customers over my career and have enjoyed watching them succeed as agricultural producers. That's very gratifying.
I do what I do (at LLB) because
I believe in the Farm Credit System, agriculture, and the people that make up Louisiana Land Bank. That's why I've stayed with Louisiana Land Bank for over 27 years.
My favorite thing to do outside work is
(that’s easy) anything outdoors - hunting, fishing, golf, working outdoors, and being able to do those things with my family.
What most people don't know about me is that
that I have a creative side! While my career in banking has meant working with numbers, financial ratios, etc., I enjoy music and writing when I can make time for the right side of my brain.
The people who inspire me the most are
many. I’d have to start with my parents who taught me how to be kind, compassionate, and caring for others. In my working career, I can start with a gentleman named Bill Crawford who first hired me in 1987. That was a leap of faith. My mentor for many years, former LLB CEO, Darrel Jans. He taught me how to treat people with kindness and compassion. Today, I am with another leader in current CEO, Stephen Austin, who has that same compassion and kindness for people. I’ve been fortunate to have worked with those people.
I give back by
reminding myself every day that it’s not about me. As long as I remember that, giving back is easy - whether financially or with my time.
I am most grateful for
a wonderful wife of 23 years and two sons whom I am very proud of. My oldest son just turned 21 years old while serving his country as a United States Marine in Afghanistan. My youngest son is a freshman in high school. He is a good kid and is well on his way to being a good man. Those two have somehow managed to stay out of trouble. There's a lot to be said for that. I'm proud of them.
Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
when I was given the opportunity to take on my current role as SVP Lending at Louisiana Land Bank. It came at a difficult time for the organization and there were difficult times for me early on in that role. But to see the success of the organization and its employees in recent years is very rewarding. To think that I have played a small part in that success is shining for me. I'm looking forward to many more shining years at Louisiana Land Bank.
